During the last weekend, further development of magnussoft® Zeta was heavily discussed among the community in the zeta-os.com forums.

This is the official statement of magnussoft® Deutschland:

On careful deliberation, magnussoft® Deutschland still adhere to Zeta, the user friendly operation system based on BeOS. We are actively involved in development and resale of new application and entertainment software like Wonderbrush, Robin Hood or Amiga Classix for magnussoft® Zeta.


Last year we reinforced our commitment by signing an exclusive distribution agreement with Mr. Bernd T. Korz. Furthermore we provided and financed a special development team for magnussoft® Zeta.

This sound funding, defrayed by magnussoft® Deutschland, allowed the release and the worldwide distribution of magnussoft® Zeta 1.21 and magnussoft® Zeta 1.5.

The archived sales figures of Zeta were far below magnussoft’s expectations. Continuation of financing the project is economically no longer viable. For the time being, magnussoft® Deutschland discontinued funding of the Zeta development team on March, 16th 2007.

The exclusive distribution agreement will remain unaffected. The existing contract is valid until the end of 2007.

Magnussoft® Deutschland is still interested in the continuity of magnussoft® Zeta. We are going to hold talks with other parties. Also the website http://zeta-os.com will stay online and maintained without any restrictions by magnussoft®.
